ISC Konstanz and the Indian renewable energy company Celloraa Energy have signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on the industrialization of high-efficiency n-type photovoltaic technology. The partnership will support the ramp-up of 1.2 GW solar cell manufacturing capacity in Surat, Gujarat (India) and aims to bring advanced TOPCon technology into large-scale production.

Representatives from ISC Konstanz and Celloraa Energy present the signed Memorandum of Understanding, which marks the start of their strategic collaboration on the production of highly efficient solar cells.
Celloraa Energy is currently building a state-of-the-art solar cell manufacturing facility and plans to expand its production capacity to 2.4 GW in the coming years. As part of the collaboration, ISC Konstanz will act as technology and qualification partner, supporting the development and stabilization of industrial production processes for high-efficiency n-type solar cells.
The cooperation includes extensive knowledge transfer and training activities, enabling Celloraa Energy’s engineering teams to build strong expertise in advanced photovoltaic manufacturing. By combining ISC Konstanz’s experience in high-efficiency solar cell architectures with high-quality manufacturing equipment and Celloraa Energy’s industrial capabilities, the partners aim to establish reliable and cost-efficient production processes.
Beyond the immediate focus on TOPCon technology, the partners have agreed on a joint research and development roadmap for next-generation photovoltaic concepts. Once the new production lines have reached stable operation, the collaboration will expand towards the development of high-efficiency back-contact (BC) solar cells, enabling future tandem-ready device architectures.
Through this partnership, ISC Konstanz continues to support the global transfer of advanced photovoltaic technologies from research into industrial manufacturing, helping to accelerate the deployment of highly efficient solar energy solutions worldwide.
