We are a non-profit association. For good reason!
- We do not pursue our own economic interests. What we earn remains in the association and is invested in research & development.
- We are independent. This is important when raising public funds in funded research projects and, of course, for our various partners.
- We can therefore devote ourselves fully and freely to our association’s purpose – photovoltaics research & development and supporting the worldwide deployment of solar energy.
The International Solar Energy Research Center Konstanz (ISC Konstanz) is registered as an association at the local court of Freiburg (register of associations number VR380834) and recognised as a non-profit organisation by the tax office of Konstanz. ISC Konstanz e.V. is the legal entity of our research institute.
All fundamental decisions are made by the members, currently 28 people. The association is run by a five-member Board of Directors who are elected at the general meeting.
Supporting members (companies) advise the Board of Directors through the Advisory Board.
The day-to-day business of the Institute is conducted jointly by the heads of its six departments, who form the management of ISC Konstanz.
