Dear partners,
We are starting the year 2025 with great news! Our institute is receiving pioneering funding, we are involved internationally and are driving solar production forward worldwide. Read more about our current successes and exciting developments!
8.7 million euros in funding for our new research building!
A huge success for solar energy research: the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of the Environment, under the leadership of Minister Thekla Walker, is supporting us with 8.7 million euros for state-of-the-art machinery in our new building! 🚀

At the press conference, Kristian Peter explains details of a solar cell developed at the institute. Nese Erikli, member of the state parliament for the Green Party, is interested in the details of what is possible with the funding from the state of Baden-Württemberg. This investment not only strengthens the innovative power of the ISC Konstanz, but also the competitiveness of the entire German solar industry. ‘The ISC Konstanz is doing pioneering work in solar energy research,’ emphasised Nese Erikli, member of the Green Party in the state parliament, at the announcement. The new machines will move into our new research building in autumn 2025 – and thus further advance high-tech developments from Baden-Württemberg!

ISC workshops: Bifacial PV in Chile & exciting events in 2025
At the beginning of the year, international PV experts met in Antofagasta, Chile, to discuss the latest developments in bifacial solar technology. Chile was already a pioneer on the MW scale in 2016 and brought innovations such as our BiSoN technology into practice at an early stage.
Together with the University of Antofagasta and the Atamostec project, we are working to further develop solar and storage technologies in the region – also with a view to raw materials such as lithium and copper.

Make sure to save the dates! We look forward to exciting discussions and new collaborations.
Ramp-up start in India – ISC accompanies new cell production
Together with our German mechanical engineering partners, we have been supporting the production start-up of a new GWp solar cell factory in India since the beginning of January. Our specialists are on site and are supporting the ramp-up with their expertise.

ISC team enters Indian factory to take over the ramp-up of a new line
🌞 Particularly pleasing: most of the production equipment comes from German manufacturers! This shows that solar production ‘Made in Germany/Baden-Württemberg’ is in demand worldwide.
Global solar production is picking up speed – not only in India, but soon also in the USA. Our team is already preparing for the next big project. We look forward to actively shaping this development!
