Thomas Buck graduated from the University of Konstanz with a degree in Physics. He wrote his thesis on Characterisation of PEM-fuel cells at Daimler-Chrysler.
He is currently pursuing his doctoral degree at the University of Konstanz, where he conducts research on multicrystalline n-type industrial solar cells. He is one of the founding members of ISC Konstanz and has been employed at the research institute since March 2008. His further research interests lie in the fields of metallisation and bifacial solar cells.
