Dr. Joachim Glatz-Reichenbach

Dr. Joachim Glatz-Reichenbach was born and grew up in Nürnberg. He completed his studies in Physics with an experimental diploma thesis in the field of Mößbauer Emission Spectroscopy in 1986 at the Faculty of Physics of the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg.
During 1987-1991, he was working on his PhD thesis Structure, Dynamics and Electrical Properties of Thin Ferroelectric Polymer Films under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Klaus Dransfeld at the University of Konstanz.
In the following years (1992-1993), he was employed as a post-doc visiting scientist at the Eastman Kodak Corporation in the department Imaging Materials Characterization in Rochester, NY, USA.
1993-2004, he was working in various positions as project- and team-leader at the ABB Research Centre, Baden-Dättwil in Switzerland, with the focus on development of functional non-linear materials for electrotechnical applications, i. e. electrical contacts and power switches, as well as on "organic electronics", surface- and nanotechnology.
In the following three years, he held the position of the product development manager for data storage and photovoltaics at Umicore Materials AG in Balzers, Liechtenstein. In this position he was responsible for coordination between R&D and the marketing department, as well as customers for large area coating and thin film photovoltaic applications.
