Dr. Eckard Wefringhaus - Member of the Executive Committee (Finance), Managing Director Quality Management![]() Dr. Eckard Wefringhaus, born in Dortmund, studied chemistry at the Ruhr-University in Bochum and biogeography at the University of Saarland, Saarbrücken. He obtained a Master of Science degree in Chemistry and a PhD in Biogeography. His research topics and specialisation during his studies were Analytical Chemistry, especially instumental analytical methods, Environmental Monitoring and Eco-Toxicology. During his postgraduate studies, Dr. Eckard Wefringhaus had been working as a scientific assistant at the Society of Evironmentally-Friendly Processing Techniques in Saarbrücken in the field of Anaerobic Wastewater Treatment. Since 2003, he was employed as a researcher at the Chair for Applied Solid State Physics of the University of Konstanz with a focus on wet-chemical processes in crystalline silicon solar cell production. Dr. Eckard Wefringhaus is one of the founding members, member of the Board, and, since 2006, on the payroll of ISC Konstanz. As director of the quality management department he and his team are responsible for the supply of infrastructure and machines and for continuous improvement of the standard processes. Current research topics of Dr. Eckard Wefringhaus include wet chemical texture, polishing and edge isolation of silicon wafers. Contact
