Girls´ School

Schoolgirls at the water conduit
Hekima school´s "clothes drier"

The Hekima Girls Secondary School in Kashozi is one of the first project partners of Deutsche Umwelthilfe e.V. (DUH). The association provided the school with technical assistance regarding the buildings and water conduit. Now only one obstacle remains preventing the school having minimal sanitary standards: electricity. As the case is in many African states the official electricity grid doesn´t reach the school building, making learning and working in the school more complicated.
With the help of Hand-In-Hand Fonds of Rapunzel Naturkost and Deutsche Umwelthilfe e.V. we will equip the school with solar modules which would not only enable lightning but would also permit to use a washing machine and computers. For this goal Centrosolar has donated solar panels of 10 kW. These will save a lot of energy, enhance sanitary standards and enable a better learning quality.
